Depending on the product, up to 20 weighings per minute per head can be achieved. There are essentially two types: The short version with one vibrating chute per weighing head between the hopper and the weighing bin, which is suitable for fine-grained products such as salt, sugar, seeds, coffee beans, etc. The long version, which consists of 3 wide vibrating chutes and 1 narrow precision-dosing chute. These, in turn, are designed for larger and more difficult-to-handle products, such as sweets, biscuits, meat, fish, vegetables, etc. Depending on the desired weight, a choice can be made between narrow and wide chutes, with the narrow version suitable for up to 2.5 kilograms and the wide version for up to 10 kilograms. All contact parts of the Atoma are made of 304 stainless steel and each weighing head has a separate weighing control unit, allowing it to operate as a stand-alone unit. This makes the weigher a true all-rounder in any production environment. ATOMA CONTROL SYSTEM Although the original modular Atoma system functions very well, many customers choose to have the weigher retrofitted. The original Atoma load cell is replaced by a digital load cell, and the Atoma circuit boards are also replaced by the calibratable NewWeigh control system. Touch-screen operation, including the ability to save programmes, greatly enhances the ease of use of the weighing machine. Incidentally, this conversion is also possible for other brands such as Hastamat, Optima and SPK.

NewWeigh FreeFlow
NEWWEIGH FREEFLOW The NewWeigh FreeFlow weighers have been specially developed for free-flowing materials. As no vibrating chutes are used, there is very little dust generation and the footprint is extremely small. Optimal accuracy can be achieved using the servo-controlled dosing slide at the outlet of the hopper. FREEFLOW APPLICATIONS To be suitable for the FreeFlow, the product must flow freely under its own weight. This makes the weigher suitable for: Rice Discodip Cat litter Laundry detergent Salt HOW THE FREEFLOW WORKS At the heart of the FreeFlow weigher is the servo-controlled product slide. This is positioned between the hopper and the weighing bin to regulate the product flow in the coarse and fine phases with great precision. As no vibrating chutes are used, dust generation and segregation are kept to a minimum. The weigher is also fitted with an enclosure, making it possible to install a dust extraction system. DESIGN The NewWeigh FreeFlow is constructed entirely from 304 stainless steel and is also available in 316 stainless steel. The product flow can be further optimised by means of surface treatment (for example, with Teflon) and by creating an air flow. The servo motor is available in an ATEX-compliant version on request. The FreeFlow can be configured with 1, 2, 3, 4 or 6 weighing heads, for speeds of up to 80 weighings per minute. NewWeigh Short Linear Weigher
NEWWEIGH SHORT LINEAR WEIGHER The NewWeigh linear weigher, featuring a single vibrating chute between the hopper and the weighing bin, is particularly suitable for fine-grained products. This short version results in less dust generation and less segregation of products such as tea, muesli and seed mixes. Furthermore, thanks to its compact footprint, it takes up very little space in your production area. SHORT LINEAR WEIGHER APPLICATIONS The short NewWeigh automatic weigher can be used for various applications, but is particularly suitable for weighing fine-grained products, such as: Croutons Coffee Sugar Chocolate Pet food Coffee beans Peanuts Maize Beads Muesli Rice Artificial fertiliser Tea Seeds Laundry detergent Pine nuts Chocolate sprinkles ADVANTAGES OF SHORT LINEAR SCALES NewWeigh’s weighing machines offer a wide range of benefits: Very high capacity and accuracy Fully stainless steel machine Wide range of machine models Customised to customer specifications In-house engineering, manufacturing and software Maintenance-free Robust and compact design Short changeover time Easy to clean 35 years’ experience SHORT LINEAR WEIGHING OUTPUT Depending on the weight and volume, the maximum output is 20 weighings per minute per weighing head. For higher capacities, weighing machines can be configured with up to 4 heads, thereby achieving a capacity of up to 80 portions per minute. In addition, various models of linear weighers are available for weights up to 3 kg (8 litres in volume) and larger models up to 10 kg (30 litres in volume). OPERATION The weighing process begins in the weighing machine’s feed hopper, where the product is fed in bulk. The product is then transported to the weighing hopper via a vibrating chute using what is known as coarse and fine dosing. During coarse dosing, the vibrating chute operates at a higher amplitude to convey approximately 80 per cent of the set weight into the weighing hopper as quickly as possible. This is followed by fine dosing, during which the amplitude is lower, thereby achieving optimum accuracy. Once the weight has been reached and verified, the weighing hopper opens automatically and the next weighing cycle begins. DESIGN AND OPTIONS NewWeigh’s weighers are constructed entirely from stainless steel; all parts that come into contact with the product are made of 304 stainless steel (2B finish). A version in 316 stainless steel is also available on request. All contact parts can be treated with, for example, Teflon to prevent sticking and product build-up. The exterior of the hopper and the drop chute can also be coated to reduce noise levels. The pneumatic components are from Festo, which are widely available and guarantee consistent, high quality. Some commonly seen options include: Dust enclosure Angle of vibrating chutes for easier product transport Touchscreen in a separate cabinet for operating the weigher Transfer hopper to the packaging machine Platform / mounting frame above the packaging machine CONTROL SYSTEM NewWeigh weighers are fitted with a high-quality IPC control system featuring: User-friendly touch screen control panel in various languages Storage for 99 programmes, allowing for quick product changes MID approval, making them suitable for calibration An FTP server for storing all individual weights, which can be read remotely.

NewWeigh Long Linear Weigher
NEWWEIGH LONG LINEAR SCALER The Newweigh linear weigher is a high-quality automatic weighing machine designed for weighing products that are more difficult to convey through vibrating chutes due to their unit weight, dimensions and/or product characteristics. The ‘long’ weighers – that is, the weighers with four vibrating chutes per weighing head – are the right choice in such cases. LONG LINEAR WEIGHER APPLICATIONS The NewWeigh linear weigher can be used for various applications, such as: Winegums Easter eggs Lollipops Nougat Meat skewers IQF raspberries Seafood Bacon bits Chocolate coins Bean sprouts Cream puffs Onions Sweets Rice cakes Olives Meatballs Pasta ADVANTAGES OF THE LONG LINEAR WEIGHER Very high capacity and accuracy Machine made entirely from stainless steel Many machine configurations Customer specifications In-house engineering, manufacturing and software Maintenance-free Robust and compact design Short changeover time Easy to clean 35 years’ experience OPERATION OF THE LONG LINEAR WEIGHER ‘Long’ weighers are fitted with a hopper with a vibrating chute, which is controlled by an ultrasonic sensor positioned above the subsequent vibrating chute. This ensures a uniform layer height within the machine. The vibration intensity can be controlled individually (separately programmable for coarse and fine dosing). A fine chute handles the final dosing. This chute can be easily adjusted to suit the product being weighed. The outlets of the coarse and fine vibrating chutes are fitted with valves to ensure the product is weighed as accurately as possible. DESIGN AND OPTIONS NewWeigh’s linear weighers are constructed entirely from stainless steel; all parts that come into contact with the product are made of 304 stainless steel (2B finish). A version in 316 stainless steel is also available on request. All contact parts can be treated with, for example, Teflon to prevent sticking and product build-up.
